Self Hosted Cloud Server

Nextcloud • Docker • WSL2 • Tailscale • Windows 11

Built a self-hosted personal cloud on my Windows 11 PC that allows me to securely store, sync, and remotely access files and photos from my iPhone.

I deployed Nextcloud AIO using Docker Desktop and WSL2, configured persistent storage on my PC, and used Tailscale to create secure remote access without directly exposing the server to the public internet.

What I accomplished

• Deployed Nextcloud using Docker containers

• Configured WSL2 and Ubuntu for Docker

• Created persistent local storage for cloud files

• Connected my PC and iPhone through Tailscale

• Enabled automatic photo and video backups

• Troubleshot virtualization, networking, ports, and container issues
